Prime Steak Restaurant @ Le Meridien KL

On a rainy Saturday evening, KC & I planned to go to Ben’s @ Publika for a simple meal. However that idea drifted due to a craving of steaks that I had & we decided to give Prime a try as we’ve heard lots of great feedbacks & seen lots of great reviews regarding the restaurant!
At first, we were a little on the hesitant side of going to Prime seeing as we were still quite full from our lunch & considering that the prices of the items in Prime aren’t the ideal prices I’d pay for a piece of steak. Though after much consideration, we thought we should just give it a try and that we could share a meal instead of having one separately, to ensure none of the food we ordered went to waste.
We called to make a reservation at Prime for 7.30pm but they told us their next seating is only available at 8.30pm. KC & I left my house at 7.30pm thinking there would be a massive traffic jam on the way to the restaurant but we only took 20 minutes to arrive! By the time we made our way to the restaurant it was only 8pm & we realised that we had arrived 30 minutes prior to when our table was booked for. The waitress was kind enough to allow us a seating although we had come earlier than expected.
We were directed to our seat to a seating of four people. The waitress then cleared the other two seatings & provided us with the menu. We flipped through the menu whilst gasping at the prices of the items, deciding what to order for about 10 minutes before the waitress came back to take our order.
Initially KC was going to order the Classic Waygu Beef Burger but we started doubting that choice as it sounded very rich & we were not too hungry to have been able to devour that. We then decided we should share a soup & a main course along with it.
We decided to order the 50/50 Wild Mushroom & Lobster Bisque Soup as a starter & as a main we ordered the 12oz (340g) Australian Grain-Fed Rib Eye with a side of Steak Fries with Cajun Seasoning. As for our beverages, we had just stuck to water.
Like any fancy restaurant, we were first given a basket of bread rolls (FOC), accompanied with 3 assorted types of butter.

We’d been eating the bread for about 15 minutes & our soup arrived. The waitress kindly explained in detail what the soup was (although we knew) & told us to enjoy! As I mentioned above, we ordered the 50/50 Wild Mushroom & Lobster Bisque Soup which meant we had the pleasure to try both soups, which came in a little soup bowl. The soup bowls were laid on a long rectangular glass plate along with 2 bite-sized pastries.

Below are the 2 bite-sized pastries that came with the soups. The waitress hadn’t explained what they were but from what it tasted like, the one on the left was a cheesy croissant filled with mushroom & carrots & the one on the left was a toasted garlic bread.

KC & I shared half a bowl of soup each so that we got to taste both. Same went with the bread. I didn’t like the Cheesy Croissant as much seeing as I’m not a fan of overly cheesy foods but the Toasted Garlic Bun was something I’d go back for. We drank the soup whilst having a conversation, hence it took us quite a long time to finish it. After we were done with it, the waitress came & took our soup bowls away and before we even knew it..
THIS BEAUTY ARRIVED.

The waitress then served us the sauces for the steak, & she also explained what it was as well! The Béarnaise Sauce was too sweet for my liking so I’d just stuck with the Black Truffle Sauce.

Our Steak Fries arrived a little after our Steak did, but we were fine with it because it did not take that long of a time to the point of where I’d have to complain. The fries were hot though needed a little more seasoning (to me, at least)

Overall, it was a really good meal & I was happy that we decided to come here! I would definitely come back again, maybe with a bigger appetite next time so that KC & I could have separate meals & explore more of their food that they provide!
Food: 8/10 (very flavourful, however portion size did not accommodate to prices)Pricing: 6/10 (a little to pricey for my liking & I didn’t think the food was worth the prices that were attached to them)
Service: 9/10 (the waitresses were very friendly & efficient!)
Ambience: 8/10 (a very quiet restaurant, however the tables were too close to one another!)
